I've PM'ed Earl about taking over responsibility for the catalog of the current HR20 bugs. Earl closed the old thread (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=74448), so this is the new one.
I think the old format worked fine, so if you can follow that format when posting a bug, it would be appreciated. Please provide as much information as possible and also make sure to update if it's been fixed.
I think I'll break it up into different groups in different posts.

Bug Name: Using select after entering a channel in the guide doesn't work.
Prognosis: Annoying
History/Status: Currently active in 0x13b (reported by jasonblair here (http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=867708&postcount=10))
Symptom: When in the guide, enter a channel number and hit SELECT and it returns you to live. You must hit ENTER after entering the number to jump to that channel in the guide.

Bug Name: Jump to beginning and jump to end do not work all the time.
Prognosis: Annoying
History/Status: I believe it's currently active in 0x13b, but it seems to come and go (reported by MacEarl here (http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=867777&postcount=12))
Symptom: Jump to beginning (hold down REPLAY button for 3 secs.) and jump to end (hold down 30 sec skip button for 3 secs.) do not work all the time. When it doesn't work, when you press the jump to beginning, it does one replay and then the power light on the HR20 flashes rapidly and doesn't actually jump to the beginning.
Treatment: Not really acceptable, but you can use FF4 to get around quickly, but not as quickly as the jump to beginning or end.

Bug Name: Pause position not maintained by mtnagel
Prognosis: Position when caught up to live in a recording is not maintained when you switch to another recording and then come back to the first recording.
History/Status: FIXED
Symptom: This is how to recreate it
• Set up two programs to record beforehand.
• Start playing one of the recordings by hitting LIST and highlighting the first recording and pressing PLAY.
• To test when you are caught up to live, I held down the 30 second skip so it jumped to almost live, then I hit FF 3 times until it stopped and then pressed FF a few more times to makes sure I was actually at live.
• Press PAUSE, then quickly LIST or BACK (or just STOP instead of PAUSE, then LIST or BACK), then highlight the second recording and press PLAY.
• Again, to test when you are caught up to live, I held down the 30 second skip so it jumped to almost live, then I hit FF 3 times until it stopped and then pressed FF a few more times to makes sure I was actually at live.
• Press PAUSE, then LIST or BACK (or just STOP instead of PAUSE, then LIST or BACK), then highlight the first recording and press PLAY.
This will start you back at the beginning instead of where you left off.
Treatment: Hit replay a few times before hitting PAUSE before you leave your recording and your position will be maintained.

Don't everyone all respond at once :)
Seriously though, if you can just let me know that any of the bugs in the old thread are still active, I can copy them over. Or if there is something new, just write it using the format I used, post it to this thread, and I will put it in the right section.
Maybe there are no more bugs?

Okay, I've just added some bugs that I got in PM from drew2k (thanks!). Please feel free to post your bugs here and I will put them in the proper section above.

Matt asked me in a PM if the two new bugs are the same or could be combined, because they're very similar. Here's what I wrote back:
They are very similar, but in the first one you only lose your pause status, meaning you can rewind to the point you paused if you wanted to.
Int he second one, however, you lose the entire buffer. So if you were behind 75 minutes, pressed PAUSE, went to Resolution / More Info, and returned, you're brought to live tv and can't rewind. In addition, the progress bar is frozen, so you have to change channels to get progress bar functionality back.

BUGS THAT IMPACT USER EXPERIENCE
This is not exactly a bug, but it definitely affects user experience.
I've had several DirecTV boxes going back to 2000. RCAs, Sonys, Hughes... most recently an H10 and an HTL-HD. On EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, if you wanted to jump to a channel from within the guide, you hit "Select" to go there. I.E. You are on channel 333 watching MTV2, and want to see what is currently airing on the local channels. You'd hit "guide," and then hit "4," and then hit "Select." The guide would jump down to show you what was on channel 4, 5, 7, 9, etc.
On my HR20, "Select" doesn't work. Instead, you have to hit "Enter" to make the guide jump. I hate this because the enter button is way down at the bottom. The "select" button is much more centrally located, and it's intuitive because every DirecTV receiver I've ever had did it this way. But not the HR20... if you hit "Select," it takes you out of the guide completely... still stuck watching MTV2 on channel 333.
I think the "Select" button should be fixed to work like all other DirecTV receivers I've ever had... just my two cents.

Bugs That Impact an Entire Recording
Jump to beginning of recording is not working with current release. This bug comes and goes.
Jump to end of recording is working with current release. Sometimes both jumps will quit working, depends on release.
Have not kept track of which revisions do this - expect this to be a common test case at D*.

Maybe they could have both select and enter do it. Also, I'm not sure if you realize, but if you enter the number and then don't hit anything, it will jump to that channel in the guide. I think that's what I do and I just tested it and it works.

Have not kept track of which revisions do this - expect this to be a common test case at D*.I have seen it happen with the jump to beginning and I do believe I've seen it with this release yesterday (watching Gilmore Girls on the CW - don't tease me as I've already been picked on today about it). I don't think I've seen it with jump to the end, but usually I just use FF4. When you hold down the replay button, it jumps back once and then I notice the power light flashes rapidly. Have you noticed that? And then it doesn't move. I will add it.

That is exactly my observable. BTW - ditto on that thumbs up!
