Waited 2 months for my 5lnb and a new HR20. I had already received a refurb HR20 because my beloved HR10-250 crapped out a month ago so I have navigated quite well now. So the installer shows up - Installer ID 5149 - Wow, your 3 lnb is up there pretty high on the roof he mentions to my wife. Its only a 2 story so how can that be, dont you install dishes for a living? The install was Thursday and I get on the roof Sat and find that he didnt remove the old dish but mounted the new one approx 10-12 ft away from the old one and lags it to the roof.... doesnt hit a truss!! The support leg is off at some angle and also lagged into roof sheathing. He also doesnt use any sealant. Next, because the cables are too short to reach his POS installation he extends them and lets them drape over the roof. Ironwood has someone coming out tomorrow AM to relocate and aim correctly..my HD locals dont come in... low signal on others.

So besides having to reboot my new HR20 twice since Thursday and my refurbed HR20 5 times in the month I have had it and then put up with incompetent installers, does DTV really expect customers to hang in there? They change prices and plans before they work out the problems and have a whopping 6 HD channels... Are we nuts?

There is no way I would allow these people onto my roof which is why I have it mounted quite low on a wall where I can easily get to it.

Make sure they seal those holes.

I would rather have a sore thumb instead of a leaky roof. ;)
