Have any of the updates to the 622 changed its OTA receiver sensitivity? A couple of stations that used to read in the low 80's now read in the mid-90's. None have increased their transmitter power and all are close enough that I doubt atmospheric conditions can explain the change. Ordinarily I wouldn't complain, but one station's signal is now so strong that it appears to be overloading the receiver.

As far as I now, no updates to the 622 have happened recently. One is coming, but has not yet been released. Therefore I doubt anything has changed in regards to the 622.

Most of the locals in Little Rock started transmitting digital at lower power levels, lower quality video and Dolby 2.0 as they ramped up to HD. In the last few months the last of them has finally gone to full power and full antenna heights. Stations that I had a hard time bringing in, now come in great. You might have a similar situation.

One thing that those new to digital OTA should know is that signals vary quite a bit season to season (far more than analog signals in the same VHF or UHF range). I have been receiving digital OTA for over three years now and I have noticed that when the weather starts warming up signals from adjacent markets are stronger (locals are always in the 90s in my area). This varies quite a bit but, generally, signals are stronger in the warmer weather than in the colder months.

I may be hallucianting but for whatever reason strong winds seem to degrade my more sistant signals. Not sure if the antenna moves---or movement by nearby trees causes it or waht but it does seem to bea factor for me.

hello -
if you go to avsforum.com, they will individual threads (by city - we have one thread for our roanoke,va and lynchburg, va cities combined) dealing with the local stations and the problems or cencerns that they might be having.

in a lot of cases an engineer from the stations will address concerns that are in the posts.

what prompted me to respond to your post was that one of stations HD antenna would get buffeted around in heavier wind and degrade the signal)

in addition to this site, the avsforum.com have really helped me with my electronics questions and concerns.
