View Full Version : Can't view message (lockup)

Long story short, my R10 was unplugged from the phone line for a long time. So at this point, I have over 150 messages telling me I haven't made a daily call.

Tonight I finally plugged the unit in to get the DST updates, etc. That worked fine. But now I'm trying to delete the messages, but as soon as I go to the Read messages menu item, the unit locks up / I can't get back to the menu system or live tv.

Is there anything I can do? I'd prefer not to wipe the entire box, as I have a slew of season passes setup.

Thanks!

This is a bug. I've seen a couple of "solutions" ....

1. Live with it. Just don't go into the Messages menu.

2. Perform a "Clear and Delete Everything". This is rather drastic and will wipe out your recordings and other settings.

My concern is that I don't keep it plugged into the phone line all the time, so those messages are going to keep adding up (after another 30 days I guess). So at some point, it's going to hit some unknown limit/wall and I may have stability issues with the unit. I guess I'll just chance it and if it starts acting up I'll clear and delete everything. Thanks!

Great, thanks for the link! I'll try the 10x connect thing tomorrow night to see if it helps.

Let us know if that works .... much less destructive than a "clear and delete everything".
