I haven't had my HR20 for very long, but it has proven so far, to be a very nice unit. For years I've been addicted to technology. Over the years I've seen products released that always have something that either doesn't work properly or at the very least doesn't do things quite the way you think they should.
Kudos to DirecTV for doing what they are doing here in concert with DBSTalk the community.
If Dish had attempted in any form to do what DirecTV is doing, they wouldn't have lost me as a customer. Seems $100, or so, a month is not important to Dish... (kicking stupid dishplayer) Hmm, let's see, ~$100 a month times 3 years... cost of replacing a defective product... doesn't seem that expensive in the long run.
Anyway, didn't mean to get sidetracked there...
The other day I was watching my DirecTV Tivo skipping along with my sps30s and I could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong with the way it was skipping. I had to laugh as I realized that I'm getting so accustomed to the 30 second slip on the HR20 that it just 'felt' wrong.
