Is this just a preview or is it live? It's in my Tivo's guide, but not my HR20's (though 257 tunes it in anyway).

How come it's not in the HR20 guide yet?

Capmeister, make sure you've added 257 to your custom guide. It should appear automatically in the all channels guide on the HR20.

HA! That was it. Duh! I'm too used to the Tivo just adding stuff whenever it wants. :)

My only experience with Chiller gave me the thought that D should just stop being a carrier for it already :raspberry

Have to agree , I was hoping for more & better. I would rather have monster HD , I know they do a lot of repeats but Chiller is just as bad if not worse. Monster HD doesnt edited the movies and no commercials.

I don't think it's that bad. If you don't like it, just by the movies on DVD and watch them.

It's better than nothing, and we already know that D* isn't going to carry Monster HD, so the point is moot. We should just be happy that D* decided to carry a horror channel.

But you see a little bit of the show and then get the Chiller Channel doing an ad about itself then you see a little more of the show and what happens--that's right--again Chiller is doing an ad for itself, etc. :raspberry

I think it's a good channel for the old TV series--Night Gallery, Hitchcock, and the like. They were always intended to be seen on TV, with commercials, and it's good to have a place to see them.

They should stay away from theatrical films, IMHO.

At least it appears that Hitchcock only has commercial breaks where originally intended, not 3 extra breaks crammed in at the expense of content.

The channel is OK, I'm hoping they add more shows/movies to the fare.

But I have never seen a channel advertise itself so much while you are watching it :eek2: Do they think we don't know what channel we are watching

When a channel starts out they do that a lot because they've not sold all their advert time. SLUTH was the same way. FoxReality was the same way.

Good :) Maybe I'll give Chiller another try when the channel is older. Because their advertising completely took away from the show I was watching :(

They're in talks to buy Rainbow Media. We'll see what happens with the talks. It is presumptive to make a statement like "D* isn't going to carry Monster HD."

I thought I had read a D* spokesman stated they would not carry VOOM. I may be misunderstanding what I read though.

They should add some PSAS for you.. TVLAND does the same thing, but they plug their reality show.

I really like Chiller. I have been watching the old Hitchcock, American Gothic, Twin Peaks and Tales from the Crypt. I haven't seen these on other channels.

I wanted to add here now that Chiller has stopped advertising itself about evey 10 seconds that I have actually come to enjoy watching it :) Thanks to everyone that encouraged me to wait

Anyone remember when the SciFi channel first launched? All the same problems. Now its a model for cable TV. Give Chiller some time.

Time Warner seems poised to buy Cablevision's cable operations.

I feel just the opposite, I think Sci-Fi Channel stinks now. All those second rate shows they produce. BSG is the exception. When they first came out they were awsome, showing all those old sci-fi series you couldn't see anymore and then they stopped. I can't find those shows anywhere now and I don't want to buy the dvd's. Oh well, to each thier own right.

I too miss some of the re-runs, but I have the DVDs of pretty much every old series I want to see. However, SciFi now has BG, Dresden Files, Eureka, Dr. Who, not to mention the quick rebroadcasts of Heroes for when your HR20 declines to record this week. I mean, they have more shows worth watching than pretty much any other channel.
