I think the time has come for a HR20. I'd had hoped for HRDirecTIVO but that looks like it is not going to happen.

We currently have a H20, a normal def DirecTV box, and two DirecTIVOs.

When we got the H20 it was on a lease. This was less than a year ago before the HR20 was availible. What does this mean for the HR20? We do not need the H20 if we get the HR20. Only one HDTV in the house.

Seems like $100 is a fair price? We have been DirecTV customers since 1996.
When we got the H20 we got and installed an AT9 dish.

What to expect on the call and what to not allow the CSR to do? I really dont want an installer to come out.

Can you run the second line for the dvr yourself? if so just go down to best buy and pick one up since it seems you already have the dish

wire is allready run. Does ordering from DirecTV save money though?

eaadams: whether you have a preference for a new or refurbished box is another part of the equation. But, from your post, you want to return the H20 in exchange for the HR-20? That might require D* CSR help whichever route on acquiring the DVR.

Whether making arrangements with a CSR, or the Extension (retention) area, keep in mind the new equipment is leased and will reset the clock on your two year commitment.

What's fair is a personal decision (free to $299 seems the range).

ps - installer seems the norm

two year re-up is fine as cable refuses to service our adress.
