I will say first off that this weekend was my first experience with D* HR10-250 so I really have not fooled around the D* version before.
A friend had the D* installers break a connector on the rear of the HR10-250 during the install of HR20, so and I was repairing it for them.
I had gone through and cleared out all Reservations and recordings on the Hard Drive so this was literally a virgin machine - so no taping of anything in the background from suggestions or reservations.
Over the course of the weekend, I had WCBS-DT on beginning early Saturday Afternoon for the NCAA Basketball Tourney as I tested the repaired connection on the air.
I never took it off WCBS-DT.
Today, 24 hours later, while switching inputs on my HDTV, I noticed that WCBS-DT on the D* TIVO and my local station were airing the same game, but now they were several minutes difference.
As it turns out, the feed from D* of WCBS-DT was right at 4 minutes slower than real time after 24 hours.
Now, if the tuners had activated or I had changed channels, I assume this would have synched up to real time again. In fact, I finally did change the channel and changed it back - instantly it synced up with the local station - so it wasnt that WCBS-DT was really showing things delayed.
But as this was set to WCBS-DT and never changed, over 24 hours, it seemed to lag behind reality 4 minutes.
So whatever reason..... in the 1440 minutes of a day, the HR10 seemed to take 1444 minutes to play the "live" programming.
I had noticed that after several hours there seemed to be a lag, but never had thought about it until I saw the 4 minutes difference.
Is this a common place for the unit to somehow run slower than reality and eventually expanding time in the process or is something wrong here?
Thanks.
