Hey is there a difference between a listing of:

MLB Superfan HD and
MLB Superfan

Both are showing up in my Recent activity?

I am a auto renewal for MLB EI

Thanks

The think the HD version shows if you subscribe to the HD Package. So you could have the Superfan but not HD if you dont have the HD Package.

I think the difference is that MLB Superfan HD means you'd just get the HD games at no additional charge as a renewal customer, and the MLB Superfan means for $39 you'll also get the Strike Zone Channel and the mosaic channel D* is offering.

I don't think so, my friend. There were other threads about the fact that that was in the MLB EI SF page on the D* website and then it mysteriously disappeared. When several of us e-mailed them, we were told that wasn't the case. I think the prior poster probably has the right answer.

Pretty funny stuff going on for sure. The other day when I went thru that thread about returning EI subs getting the HD games incuded free, I went to the web page and I read the info with my own eyes - and correct it is NOW GONE.

I called D*, spoke with 5 different people, all were nice enough, all checked, all came back and said there is NO such promotion (this includes customer retention and a supervisor in customer retention). I told each one that many of us had seen it (because it really WAS there) - she finally said if I faxed them a copy (they gave me a number) that they would honor it.

ANYONE that took a screenshot with those original terms - PLEASE attach to a post here. Thanks.

Well, the MLB Superfan HD appeared on my account with a charge of $0.00, and I'm a renewal customer, so I guess we'll have to wait until the season starts to find out. Given that DirecTV probably will have a free preview the first week of the season, we likely won't know for sure until around April 8th or 9th.

I just ordered MLB EI and Superfan and two days later the Superfan HD appeared on my account so it's not just for renewal customers. Also when I read the details it states MLB Superfan HD included with MLB Superfan.

I think if you order the Superfan you should get a MLB.tv subscription, too.

What is it that you are talking about? I have NHL Center Ice, and we get the occasional game in HD on ch 95 at no extra charge. Is this what you mean, or will they be shutting off TNT HD every day in the summer to accomodate baseball in HD?

I for one would rather have baseball than TNT-HD - BTW don't get angry at this - I am a life-long Isles Fan (over 30 years).

But in all seriousness, it sux sharing bandwidth for sure. The good news is that it really won't be much longer until we have enough to go around for a good while.

Well I called D and found out you could have Superfan without HD :) So D got more of my money  I have never had a sports ticket before so I thought if I was going to do it I would do it right :yesman:

Can't argue with you there, come to think of it, as I don't think I've ever actually watched TNT HD, or TNT SD for that matter. If NHL Center Ice could have more games in HD at the loss of TNT HD, I'd go for it in a minute! I've gotten to see 3 Islanders games in HD this year, and two of them were on HD Net!

P.S. Been a fan since '72 too!

I had both on my account since I had ordered Superfan. I then cancelled Superfan and the Superfan HD has stayed put on my programming list. This happened on 2 accounts, my own and my parents. Both accounts are auto-renewal for MLBEI and have HD with the Premier package.

it states MLB Superfan HD included with MLB Superfan.

Yeah, we're not disputing that. We're saying that we just want to HD and that the Access fee should cover that. But it appears not.

And to 2nd the prior post, if anyone has the screen print, PLEASE POST!!

Thanks a lot for the screen print, but I was actually talking about the screen print from the D* website that said SF was free for renewing EI subscribers (it was taken down shortly after we started asking D* if it was indeed free).

On your bill, though, I do see that it lists SF HD for $0 and just SF for $19.50. The question is whether or not you can JUST do SF HD (for free) and NOT regular SF. I think the answer is no and if that's the case, the fact that they're separated on the bill doesn't really mean anything b/c you have to get both, which means you still have to pay. Hopefully that makes sense.

Why is it that you have MLB and MLB Superfan HD

I have all these on my account

MLB EXTRA INNINGS
MLB EXTRA INNINGS SuperFan
MLB EXTRA INNINGS SuperFan HD

Should I only have EI and EI SuperfanHD?

Still hoping that someone will attach a screen shot of the D* webpage showing that renewal MLB EI subs will get the HD games for free in 2007.

Also, it would be helpful if any others send in a screenshot as cforrest has done - one that of course has your personal stuff x'd out, but that shows a free MLB superfan entry on your bill - point is - they DID have that free HD stuff on the website - I know I saw it there - I believe that entitles me as a renewal MLB sub to get the HD games free - but since they have obviously changed the webpage - they need some proof to be able to give that to those that reference it and call in.

Help please from you members here that say you are now authorized for this for free. Thanks.

I cancelled SF though, SF HD (for free) is still there and on my programming list. Hence no need for the $39 charge, a reason why I cancelled SF, since 2 days later SF HD (for free) appeared. SF was once listed on my programming list when I had it, then cancelled and it was gone, yet SF HD is still there.

Well, I'm going to have to call them again. I was told last night that I would get the HD stuff wtih MLB ticket without the Superpass sub.

Pricing update for MLB EI SF:

It is going to be offered at the reduced price of $29 for renewal subs. It is not yet updated on the system or the website, but you will see this soon.

Anyone know what this year's renewal price is for the base MLBEI package?

So the $19.95 charge it shows on your bill is incorrect?

Don,

Look at the last line item, 4 days later. I got a credit back for the Superfan of $19.50 on 3/16. So yes I got credited for it and SF HD (for free) still is on my programming list, as it is on my parent's account.

Anyone know what this year's renewal price is for the base MLBEI package?

Renewal price is $159.96 until April 15th. After that date the price moves to $199.96

SuperFan is an extra $39 and includes the up to 10 HD games per week, the StrikeZone channel and the mix.

SuperFan is not free with renewal.

Free preview April 2nd through April 8th I believe...free preview would include Super Fan

All great questions. Here's the deal. If you have HD Access already on your account, then you are going to see both SuperFan and SuperFan HD on your bill. It's simply how our billing system states the services on your account right now, though it is a bit confusing and will be fixed.

The reason it states both is because if you didn't have HD Access you can still subscribe to SuperFan for the Mix Channels and the Strike Zone channel but would be blocked from the HD content. Thus in a sense there is a HD SF and a SD SF...but once you pay for the HD Access, you automatically kick into the HD SF "tier" for no additional cost because you're already covering it with the HD access fee.

Hope that helps.

Yes like I can get SuperFan, but not SuperFan HD because I don't have HD TVs. At first I thought I couldn't get SuperFan at all because of no HD. But I'm glad I can get SuperFan because the Mix Channels are great

Thanks, satelliteracer...that actually makes perfect sense.

By the use of the pronoun "our" I assume you work there. Any chance you'd be willing to solve the ongoing debate of (a) if free renewal was there and they took it off and (b) if we're definitely going to have to pay the additional $39 for HD when it was free last year?

It was free last year, but there were only a few games in HD for MLB EI. I don't remember the final number, but usually 2 or 3 a week. Now we're talking up to 10 per week so they've moved the HD portion into SuperFan along with the other new features.
