I just got my VIP 622. I don't pay for locals I use an OTA. When the guy installing was showing me how to record over the air you could only set the end time of the recording. How do you set the start time? The installer didn't know how. I want to be able to set it to record a program from 8:00pm to 9:00 pm while I'm gone. Would stink to have to set it in the afternoon and have it record from 2:00pm to 9:00 since I can't select the start time. Any help? Thanks in advance!

That extra $5 a month really pays off when setting up OTA timers.
You can manually set timers. The channel will still be listed in the EPG, it just will not have the event information listed. Instead it will say something probably like Digital Off Air or Digital Local.

Cool, I'll have to check it out. I am at work and can't play with it now so if anyone wants to let me know how to create a manual timer feel free. Thanks.

When you create a manual timer you get the option to "Edit Time"
Set the start and end time in there.

If you are already spending $50+ for an HD DVR and HDTV channels, why not spend another $5 for the OTA guide? Makes life so much easier. Just skip one latte a month and you're set!

I pay the extra $5 a month and still get no guide data for Fox 35 WOFL Orlando. It is extremely annoying because Dish does not have HD locals in Orlando yet and I have to record my weekly NASCAR fix from 35 FOX WOFL OTA every Sunday afternoon using a manual timer.

One user with 4.01 reports they are now getting guide data for Fox 35 Orlando.

There are at least two now because 4.01 fixed WOFL 35 guide data for me too.

Has anyone heard when we'll get the PBSHD channel programming to show in the EPG? I just got 4.01 and although I have my HD channels with the little HD logo it would really be nice to be able to search for and select shows to record from the guide. I like Frontline, and I know its on tuesday evening here. I can setup a manual timer, but sometimes the show is an hour long and sometimes its 1.5 hrs. Thats why I like the name based recording. The 622 will adjust the recording to fit what's in the EPG. Is there some hangup with E* getting the rights to carry the programming guide? I coulda sworn it showed up for about a week earlier this year and then it went away.

Last I heard we will get the PBS HD guide data somewhere around the 12th of NEVER. :hurah::D I would like it too but that is what I use TitanTV on my pc for it then set a manual timer. Now if the multipath for my local PBS would take a hike. They are located on the tower of the local ABC station and must not be prime physical location cuz it is the only ch that is screwed by the M- path.
