Making the switch back to DirecTV in order to receive MLB Extra innings. I am a little nervous about this based on all the negativity surrounding the HR20 HD DVR. One question I have- Is there any difference in HD quality when getting my HD locals from the satellite vs OTA?

Some people say that OTA is superior to the MPEG4 satellite HD locals, some have the opposite experience, some say that they can see no difference. I think it depends on the affiliates signal at any specific location.:)

I would say if OTA is 10 out of 10. MPEG4 locals are 9.5 out of 10.

I would agree. In my market (Houston), OTA and MPEG4 locals are so close in quality (high) that I really can't tell the difference between them.

Hey Mark,

I too had to switch back for MLB. I've been impressed with the OTA stuff here in Tulsa ( No HD locals yet here). 10 out of 10 for me with some more HD channels that I did not get on cable like the WB ( if that's still there name) and Public Television has 4 channels of HD stuff.
