I've never used manual record before, but I saw that there's a Penguins game in HD on 95 at noon (central) tomorrow and I wanted to record it to watch that evening. But the time for it is noon till 6 and I didn't want to record the whole 6 hours, so I set up a manual for noon till 3:30. But I remember hearing complaints about manual records in the past. My general impression from reading posts is that they've been fixed. But I just wanted to make sure and get any advice on any potential problems I might have with recording the Penguins game manually. I really don't wanna screw it up as I have a friend who's a bigger Pens fan than I am coming over to watch it with me.

I remember hearing complaints about manual records in the past. My general impression from reading posts is that they've been fixed.

My experience confirms that impression. I record SportsCenter using a daily recurring manual recording, and I had endless problems until about December. Things have been rock-solid since then. So there's one data point, for what it's worth.

Also, my impression was that the problems occurred mostly with _recurring_ manual recordings, not one-time manual recordings, but I could be wrong.

Bottom line: At the risk of jinxing you, I think the manual recording should work.

Thanks! But it was all for naught as my Penguins game in HD got blacked out!

Shendley - I have question for you. Did you get the game via Center Ice via FSN Pittsburgh or were you blacked out because you are near Atlanta and got their feed?

I am in PA, got the game in SD via FSN Pittsburgh (626) but the HD feed on 95 was blacked out. No idea why unless the HD feed was from Atlanta and the SD feed was Pittsburgh's feed. I don't know if D* will split up the SD and HD feeds or not. For example - HD feed of one team, but SD feed of the other team.
