Anyone know is the -100 & the -700 are running the same software updates? I would assume so, but the latest software I can get using the "02468" method is "12A" which I believe came out in February..and is not the latest one the -700 guys have been getting...

Any ideas?

Where did you get your -100 by the way?? The rumor was that the -100 is still in beta test and has not gone into general release yet.

I'm guessing but I suspect that any new releases for the -100 have only been made available to people who are beta testing the product; probably when there are national releases for the -100 they will have different release numbers from the -700 releases anyway.

Standard equipment upgrade order from DTV...Just got it all installed yesterday. The build date on the HR20-100S is 3/07/07 so just made a couple weeks ago...

Do you have the 700? What is the difference? Your comments on this 100 will be appreciated. Performance? etc

No sorry I never had the -700..only had this -100 for one day..but so far everything is working great besides not knowing the latest software update for it (thinking it is different than the -700 version)..no lockups or anything like that..

I know little about the 100, so I can't answer your question. 12A is pretty old, if it's the same 12A that was once available for the 700.

[ Do you have a digital camera? Would love to see a closeup of the front and back of the 100. ]

Well I dont have the camera here..but from what I have seen on the -700 it looks the same....not sure about dimensions between the two or anything like that.


I am thinking that 12A has got to be the latest one compatable with the -100 because it downloads the same file everytime, but never updates on the system check portion (still says 2/28/07).

Great, another hardware unit, that on the surface, requires yet another version of software from D*. When will D* figure out to have the same software base work on several different units. Geesh! :confused:

Interesting. Perhaps Earl can shed some light on whether 12A is the latest and greatest version for the HR20-100.

[ Meanwhile, if you have time, can you give us a left-to-right assessment of the connection capabilities on the back of the -100? Very curious. ]

The main visual difference with the 700 (I have one) is smaller size of IR lens, and the circle is not apparently made of individual leds, or AT LEAST THEY ARE COVERED. Looks just like the circle on the Samsung 4353 I have. Knock on wood- so far so good.

Its made in Mexico.

I was also wondering about software being 12. Hey Earl, anything else coming for this box??

Makes at least 2 of us that got it right from DTV! lol

You must have had an installer who actually looked at yours...mine told me I had the -700....until I looked on Sunday morning and found out it was the -100 version.
