View Full Version : HR20 install tomorrow am, any tips?

I'm supplementing my trusty SD DirecTivo with the HR20 tomorrow; anything I need to know for the install? I'm scouring the tips and survival guides (thanks to all, they're fab), and I think I'm ready, but any last-minute help would be great. I'll be plugging the unit into a DVDO VP30 scaler via HDMI, and I'm looking forward to finally getting a broadcast HD signal onto my TV!

Make sure the installer downloads the newest software (it will be 0x13e). After that is done make sure all of your signals on all 5 SATS are in the mid 90's. If not you will have problems and you will have to have a tech come back out.

The download will happen when the installer first turns on the unit. Expect that to take 10 minutes

Make sure he runs the two additional lines you will need to operate both units at the same time.

With a new Install (Ironwood)'; will there be an HDMI cable in the box or if not will the installer provide one?

HDMI cables did not originally come with HR20's. Recently it seems that they are now included. So I guess it's a toss up. Probably you will get one, but maybe you won't. I've got 2 HR20's, and did not get an HDMI cable with either one.

I have had 2 HR20s delivered within the past week...both had HDMI cables with them. :)
