View Full Version : What's In The Box?
My install is scheduled for tomorrow, and I want to be sure I have everything on hand that might be necessary. I'm wondering what cables, if any, come in the box with the HR-20? The HR-10 came with HDMI, HDMI>DVI, component and composite audio cables in the box, along with the remote, power cord and 25 or 50 feet of phone wire. Same deal here?
Or do the HR-20's not come in boxes and the installers supply whatever cables are necessary? TIA.

Mine came with the HDMI cable...no HDMI to DVI adapter. I bought a HDMI to DVI adapter from Radioshack for ~$30. I found out later that you can buy these and cables much cheaper from http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp
There are component and composite cables in the box (which I was not interested in). And, BTW, my installer could not speak English very well! Hope your experience is better.
Cheers,
John

I notice you have 3 HR20s (I only have one). How does the pricing work? Do you pay the upfront "leasing" fee for each one, PLUS $9.99 a month for each one?
Or do you pay $9.99 per month no matter how many you have?
Thanks,
John

Yes it is $4.95 for each box. The first one in included in your package price.

You pay the DVR fee once per account. That's $9.95. You pay an additional receiver (or leased receiver) fee for each receiver after the first one on your account (a DVR is "a" receiver). So that's $4.95 per month for each addition HR20.
And yes, you pay the up-front fee for each one (whatever fee you are able to negotiate with DirecTV).
