The first schedule is up at DirecTV. If it's correct, there are only three games on Monday and then NOTHING until Friday! After that, there are lots of games every day. It seems a little strange to have such a light schedule at the beginning...

I dont mean to sound as if I`m complaining, but I hope there are more games during the month of April other than the 3 being shown on opening day.

And those three are ESPN games and not really EI games anyway!

I was just about to post about the same issue. I agree.....seems very weird to have so few games during the first week. I'm hoping that the full schedule for April just hasn't been released yet.

Good catch, did not even think about that, duh !!!!

There has got to be a problem with the schedule. Based on their current schedule the Red Sox will only be shown once until April 10th (not including the ESPN game). Missing 4 games in the process. I would be extremely pissed. They better fix this.

Looks like D* found the link to the MLB season schedule and plopped "TBA" next to it. Wake me up on April 2.

Yeah, the D* schedule is not accurate at all. There will be more games in HD right from the start of baseball season (and available to MLB EI superfan subscribers).

Seems they've had plenty of time to get some schedule together for next week....Even if the contract is still up in the air, most , if not all, teams have their season broadcast schedule posted.

As long as games in HD are being broadcast by the RSN's (i.e., FSN OH, FSN FL, NESN, etc.), then they will be part of MLB EI.

Not sure why it matters, though, except for their selection of HD feeds... 99% of games will be viewable through EI, unless they are on ESPN or FOX or one of your region's networks... You can get the same information (without channel numbers) from the MLB website.

Not to burst any bubbles, but there will be a max of 10 games per week in hd with extra innings/superfan. That's about 7 percent of all mlb games, and far fewer than the percentage of rsn games presented in hd around the country. There really won't be any more hd games this season than there were by the end of last year (and it costs 40 dollars more).

Next year, directv promises much more in the way of hd games.

10 games a week plus whatever is on ESPN and Fox will be enough to satisfy me I think. But the more the merrier. Looking forward to them all being HD someday!:)

Not necessarily true. Phillies and Padres are the obvious example. If the teams they play against are not on an RSN, those games aren't available on EI. Also, many teams skew towards OTA on weekends. It is hit/miss on which games will only be OTA. Now...if DirecTV has somehow maneuvered the contracts into allowing OTA feeds, it will be a VERY good year for EI.

Very (maybe) interesting. A game listed on the schedule is the Giants/DBacks on 4/22. The Giants show the game broadcast on KTVU while the DBacks are on KTVK (no RSN). Could OTA games be in our future?

Also...true to the schedule...There are no broadcasts scheduled for 4/21 between AZ&SF. The DirecTV schedule does not have a game listed either.

Since I started this, I think I'll ask a moderator to close the thread. It's now obvious that the schedule isn't complete or correct, unless the package isn't starting officially until Friday. The only other games posted are the Monday games on ESPN and they aren't part of the package....

Don't worry, it's in process. A lot of the information is coming very late because of all of the sidebar issues this year.

I can tell you it looks like the SOX will be on in HD 5th, 6th, and 8th....subject to change of course.

Just keep checking online as the HD schedule and the balance of the non-HD games will be filled in as we are certain which games are cleared.

I don't see why they couldn't offer the OTA feeds in the MLBEI package as a lot of the OTA channels are already being carried by D* via LIL spotbeam, all they have to do is pipe those feeds onto a conus satellite. They do this with NHLCI and NBALP already. What do you guys think?

It's all about contractual agreements. Cable probably couldn't pull it off. Maybe, with them out of the picture (in a few days) we will see OTA games this year. Anybody here have the package in it's infancy when DirecTV was the exclusive provider? Did they have OTA games back in the day?

While I have no direct knowledge of the contract, I can say that in discussions with Directv leagal counsel last year, a goal of Directv was to get out of the business of doing the heavy labor of pulling the links together for EI. In other sports like basketball and hockey, the league broadcast centers does that for the cable and satellite providers. My guess is that Directv will not be doing it anymore and you will the same links as MLBtv. Therefore, OTA, Rogers Sportsnet, Comcast Philadelphia will all be provided in the upcoming year. While they continue to advetise 60+, I suspect the total will be much higher. To all those who dreamed of a complete package, I believe you will be very happy.;) ;) ;)

I had it back in the day and yes there were OTA feeds back then. I have had the package since the first year they offered it.

Check the schedule now, they've fixed it. Looks like all games are listed. Still no HD except for ESPN on opening day, but at least my Red Sox are listed everyday now...:)

Well, its getting closer. April 6th still needs more games, there are a lot more than 3 that will be on.

The HD for opening day will probally fill in as they schedule the channels for the sd feeds and remove the TBA.

Think about it, they could easily do 4-6 HD games on a day like opening day. 2 1-2pm games, 2 7pm games, and 2 10pm games (EST). All that using just 2 HD channels like they said they would. That stragety could sure beat 10 per week.

There is definitely a problem with this schedule...On Thursday April 19th the schedule shows D'backs vs. Padres, but the team sites indicate that the game will not be on tv in either market...

I quickly counted the number of games on the schedule for the first week…even with only three games showing on Friday, there are over 70 games…wouldn’t it be nice if this was accurate…

I wouldn't worry too much about the schedule. As someone who has had EI for the past few years, my experience has been that they show EVERY game they can. I think there may be a few networks that D* has issues with but for the most part, if it's on TV, it will be on one of the EI channels.
