I have an R10 (and an HR20) and lately, if I have just the right combination of channels on the SAT 1 and SAT 2 of the R10, I get a loss of signal on SAT 2.

For example, SAT 1 has my local NBC affiliate and SAT 2 has the Sports Sked on channel 600. If I change the SAT 2 channel to 229 (HGTV) or several other channels, the SAT 2 signal loss message goes away. If I go back to channel 600 (Sports Sked) on SAT 2, the message comes back up. Seems to be related to certain channels. I can replicate this problem by going back and forth.

I also swapped cables and it followed the cable swap to SAT1. Could it be an issue with the LNB? May also be a cable issue. I have 2 lines to my HR20 and 2 lines to my R10...all are RG6.

Has anyone seem this issue with any of their Tivo or HR20 units?

Since the problem "moved" when you swapped cables, you know it's either a cable/connector problem, a multiswitch, or a dish/LNB problem. Follow the "bad" cable back to your multiswitch/dish and check the connections there. Try swapping cables at the multiswitch or dish to see if the problem "moves". See if you can isolate the problem.

I'm assuming you probably have the 5-LNB dish, right? Do you also have a multiswitch, or are your DVRs connected directly to the dish's outputs?

Was any cabling work done recently? Sound like a standard splitter is in the line somewhere. From your example you are fighting a voltage war and loosing.

There are three combinations:
18/18
18/13
13/13

When both tuners want 18, you get both channels. Same when both want 13. Problem is when one of each is wanted, 18 wins out.

In your testing try this. Find a combination of two channels that give you the error. Then swap those channels on the tuners. So your NBC on tuner 1, something else on 2. Then NBC on 2, etc. Does the error move with the tuner?

My :money: is a on a spilter in the line or a multiswitch going bad.
