I have a 3-year-old DirecTV system with dual LNB, two receivers and I am also pulling in cable to get the local channels. This past Friday I had our local cable company come out and do a check on the cable lines because I was getting really bad reception on our local channels. The technician told me all he did was to re-terminate two ends because they where corroding and change out a splitter and tighten down the ground for the diplexers that was in our box on the side of the house. The cable channels cleared up tremendously. But now on one of my TVs I cannot receive all of the Sat channels.
Here is what I have done to try to fix this but it doesn't seem to have worked.
I ran the signal straight from the dish to the receiver bypassing the diplexer and received all the channels.
Replaced the diplexer for this particular TV on the outside of the house and it was working. It seems like after some time though, say a 2 hours, it has stopped working. Don't know why
My other TV is working fine.
Has anyone had this happened before? Can anyone offer up any suggestions on what I may have done wrong or should do?
