I have had a laundry list of install problens and here could be another one. Is there supposed to be a "sealant" under the baseplate on my new dish? My old one had one, but the new dish is mounted directly to my roof. Also missing one of the 4 bolts that hold the dish directly to the mount and I am not sure the dish is grounded. Please help me keep my sanity with all of this.

I don't know about under the plate, but there should be some type of sealant where the bolts enter the roof. I would think there should be four (or more) bolts - what type of dish is it? And, it should be grounded.
So you have not lost your sanity, you've just been subjected to a bad installation. Call DirecTV and/or the installation company and get them back out to do it right.

I figured there should be a sealant. where is the ground supposed to come from? The LNBs?
Problem with my D* sanity is that the installation company doesn't like to show on time or at all to my house. I have had three missed appointments and one that refused to do the work correctly.
There should be a ground wire from your dish or mounting bracket to an electrical ground or ground rod. As to missed appointments, I believe you are authorized a credit on your account for each one. That doesn't fix the problem, but it doesn't hurt quit as bad.
