Just received a letter delivered through the US mail from D* with details on their MLB EI package. I am disappointed with what was said in the letter. I am a long time MLB EI subscriber. In the past renewal MLB EI subscribers always got an extra $10 discount off the early bird renewal price. It looks like that is no more. The letter says the renewal price is 4 payments of $39.99 each, the same as the early bird price. The HD Superfan price is also quoted at $39. Someone in another thread had indicated that they had inside knowledge that D* would only be charging $29 for existing MLB EI subscribers who wanted to subscribe to the Superfan package. I guess D* did the math on their deal with MLB and decided that they needed to squeeze all the money they can out of their existing subscribers.

With the new deal just signed this month there was probably no chance to work out an early bird price this year.

In fact, I ordered the SuperFan and got it for $29. The CSR when asked didn't know at first, put me on hold, told me that in fact it was $29 for renewing EI subs and that's that.

I guess I'll call and say I heard that it is being offered for $29 and see what they say. Hopefully I can get that price. $10 off is better than nothing.
