I have two Dish receivers in my room (508's)
One is ExpressVu and the other one is Dish.
My ExpressVU box one day suddenly lost satellite signal. I did a switch check and it only found the 'odd' transponders. Then I tried watching the channels, half of the channels are saying "receiver can't lock in the signal"
Since I have two lines going into my room.. into two different receivers, I did some cable swapping to determine whether the problem lies on 1) receiver 2) cable 3) LNB
I concluded that the problem is perhaps with the cable one receiver can do a successful switch check using another cable AND I swapped the cable on the LNB side. The "faulty' LNB was good once connected to the 'good' cable.
But cable is the simplest in structure compared to LNB's and receivers. Either the cable is good or bad. How can it receives signal but yet only gets one polarity only??
Any help is appreciated
