The A's are playing tonight at Seattle and the Giants' opening day is tomorrow. If this is for real, we'll see it turned on tomorrow for the Giants game.

Welcome back and good luck with your recovery.

I am hoping SNY-HD is turned on before tomorrow nights Mets game.
I just got back from my local cable office to schedule a Thurs morning install for HD. TWC calls it the "Digital Starter Pack". It will give me all NYC local HD stations which include the "Big 4" that I also get from Dish but add WWOR (MyTV), WPIX (The CW), WNET (PBS) and several digital sub-channels along with SNY and YES in HD.
This would cost me an extra $30 per month but if E* turns SNY-HD on I will cancel that install. I would love to keep that $30 in my pocket. The other channels would be nice but I can wait for those. SNY-HD is the most important thing to me right now.
Last nights Cards - Mets game on ESPN2-HD got me salivating all over the place and I just can't wait any longer to get most or all of the games in HD.
PS.. I for one don't care about EI. I can't imagine many would but we should have an option for at least 1 out of market RSN package. Many people move and leave their favorite team(s) behind. I can see this as a very attractive add on for many people.
In HD of course. :D

Is there anyone with the multi-sports pack that can confirm receiving these two channels "out of market"?
I am getting 368 FOXMW (currently a HD slate as nothing HD is airing).
364 FOXRM is there with the Diamondbacks game blacked out.
Anyone else with multi-sports that can confirm?
BTW: 368 FOXMW Mets at Cardinals 7pm ET Tuesday - blacked out but in the guide.

Welcome backm JohnH... keep it simple and heal fast!
I'm not a baseball fan, but I'd check out an RSN just to see if it was there. Thus far I've seen nothing light up in that area for me.
I am on AT250 with HD so I assume if anything was on relative to my region I would see it.
I'm guessing all I would expect to see light up would be FSNS... Anyone know when anything is slated to be in HD on Fox Sports South? I'll take a look and see if that ever lights up here.
Usually the NBA games on 420 (Fox South in SD) are blacked out even when not available locally in Raleigh... so I'm not sure I'll see anything I would watch until football/basketball for NCAA next season... but I'd check out a baseball game just to see how it looks.

Got the multi-sports pack and have Fox RM and Fox MW. I am blacked out on the Rockies game and the Fox MW is showing the dish HD logo with music. Being one of my three RSN's I get I am looking forward to the Cardinals games. Now want Comcast Chicago and Fox North on so I can see the Twins and Chicago sports.
I only have top 100 NO LOCALS I do have the 20 dollar HD pkg
So can I add my locals for 5.99 a month and will that get me my two RSN?
My area gets Fox Sports MW
and Fox Sports Ohio or Cinn I forget.
Or do I have to get TOP 100 PLUS at 39.99 a month
whats is dif in just adding locals for 5.99 and not pay for top 100 PLUS at 39.95?
thanks

I received a phone call from one of the Exec Communication Reps in CO today.
She was calling to tell me FSNMW-HD has been launched. The reason for the personal call was, this is a topic we have been discussing via email over the past year.
She went on to say, at this time, only MWHD and RMHD have been launched. She said there will be an announcement coming from DISH in the next day or so, regarding RSN HD's. She also said, at this time, she had no time-frame as to when others would be launched.
I have checked the EPG, and can confirm both tomorrow and Wednesday nights FSNMW-HD broadcasts is available on channel 368 in HD, including the HD pre-game show FSN does.
She also mentioned there is a intermittent technical glitch with the channel, which she confirmed with the technical department, saying if you go to the channel, and receive a blank screen with only the DISH info banner, just switch to another channel, and back to 368, the picture will appear, and remain locked. She said TS is aware of the glitch and is working to correct it.
Interestingly enough, both MW and RM were the only 2 FSN HD's not uplinked with all the others. They were just both uplinked last week.
That is accurate (sort of) ... the important part in bold. The package name should be AT100 Plus not AT60 Plus.

Thanks well I broke down and called however I can not just go from At100 to At100 Plus for 34.99 Imust pay another 5 for locals(that I dont want)
So for me my one HD RSN is 10 a month
Not worth it or only 37 Cardinal HD games a year and NO other teams in HD on FSN MW.
Maybe that will change next year Fox might add more sports in HD.

Did you get an automatic update last night? Do you sub to locals, and/or have the FSN RSN pack? If you get 419, 368 should be in your EPG.
You can force one now, by changing the update time to a couple of minutes ahead of the current time, and put the 622 in stand-by. This should refresh your EPG.

Was your receiver in stand-by last night? You can refresh the EPG by either forcing an update, or by running a test-switch. Or, be sure it's in stand-by tonight, and check it again in the morning. The first program isn't until tomorrow night at 6PM.

Something to remember about FSN's is they are affiliate networks, and are not all owned by the same entity. So, like local networks, carriage aggreements have to be negotiated with them individually. There are a handful of owners for these, and I beleive that these two are both owned by Liberty Media.
So, that may bode well for other Liberty Media owned RSN's... (does anyone know which ones are?) ... but it might not mean much for those of us waiting for RSN's that have different ownership, like FSN Bay Area, which is owned by Rainbow Media (Cablevision)

It is MW and RM. They were two of the "chips" in the News Corp sale of DirecTV. This may explain why these two were the only FSN RSN's not originally uplinked when all the others were, and why they're the first to launch.

If that is true... it tells a couple of revealing things...
1. Charlie & Dish already has a much better working relationship with the new DirecTV than it did with the old DirecTV.
2. The problem Dish has with the Fox owned RSNs is related to the problem he used to have with DirecTV (problem=Rupert).
It is MW and RM. They were two of the "chips" in the News Corp sale of DirecTV. This may explain why these two were the only FSN RSN's not originally uplinked when all the others were, and why they're the first to launch.
Sorry, not quite right. FSN Northwest, Rocky Mountain, and Pittsburgh are the three RSN's included to Liberty in the sale from News Corp. However, that deal is yet to be consummated, so at this time they are still property of News Corp. FSN Bay Area and FSN New England are the two FSN's currently owned by Rainbow. All but those two plus SportsSouth and SunSports are wholly owned by News Corp.
The Stock Exchange that will give Liberty the three above mentioned RSNs is expected to be completed in July. It is likely that those three channels will continue to be called FSN even after the transfer.
Back to the original question: Why RM and MW as the first to launch? Well, RM is an obvious first choice since RM is in Denver and Charlie can watch the Rockies. Maybe someone else at Dish really likes the Cardinals!
I belive that at least the original uplinked RSN's will launch this week.

I expect that living out of market from those two stations (FOXRM, FOXMW) that I will be receiving exactly zero benefit from having the HD feed (and any others for that matter). Anything broadcast in HD (like a major sporting event) will be blacked out in my area.
I am also wondering when my in market station FOXBA goes HD what percentage of the sport shows, events etc will be broadcast in HD? Here is to hoping it's not another oxymoron like the NFLHD channel.

Thanks!
Being that FSN Wisconsin just launched about 3 days ago, and the spinoff was very quick, its probably the reason why Dish has yet to add it to the channel lineup, but since Dish has the majority, if not all the FSN branded stations, I would say it looks good to see it in SD. HD? I doubt it very much anytime soon. It took Dish what seemed like forever, but was at least 4 or 5 monthes, just to turn on 2 RSN's in HD, so FSN Wisconsin is way down the line, if even on the radar at all...
