View Full Version : Extra Inning channel listings
Why does D* wait until the day of a game to post what games will be on in HD as part of the MLB EI package? Not having this info in the guide makes it impossible to program a game to record until that day. This afternoon, the guide had channel 730 showing the Nat'l GEO sneak peak. Why not have the full week's HD schedule listed on channels 730 and 731 so customers can plan ahead?
The SD games are in the guide several days ahead.
Also, same thing goes for the NHL CI package. You can never plan ahead to see to see in the guide what HD game will be on channel 95 until that day. Would be nice to be able to scan ahead in the guide 3 or 4 days to see what HD NHL games will be provided on 95.

I agree. It's very frustrating to try and program a game when it doesn't appear in the guide until hours before the game.
This evening was a disaster for trying to watch games. On Ch. 95 and MLB HD 731 the guide showed the A's vs Mariners. It was blacked out on both channels. But the game was broadcast on MLB Ch. 748 and also on the local bay area RSN CH. 36. No idea at all why is wasn't broadcast in HD on 731 or 95. Instead it was broadcast in SD on 748.
Then the Giants vs Padres were shown in the guide on Ch. 96 and also also on an MLB channel, plus a local RSN CH. 654. I recieved all three games. I watched the one in HD on Ch. 96.
Blackout rules drive me crazy. I just set my DVR to all three games sometimes and hope for the best. I've set the DVR on games in the past to find out that the game was blacked out and I missed the entire game. I'll be happy when we get the Yes HD Channel becuase all I really care about is watching the yankees in HD.
No idea why D* waits so long. It can't be that D* doesn't know what games they are showing on 730 and 731 at least a few days in advance. Heck, if you look on the D* website under the EI schedule, it has them out a few days, although the guide is the last to be updated. If you don't have a PC nearby, you have to wait and see to find out what is on the sports packages and on channel 95 in HD.
Ditto about your YES HD comment, too!

Blacked out for you because the HD feed was FSN Northwest (Mariners feed).

Dear D*, please don't wait until the day of game to fill in the guide! At least, 3 or 4 days in advance would be nice for channel 95 and the sports packages (MLB, NHL, etc.).

Hey, it still won't record if you program it in at midnight before a 1:05pm game and the game is listed.

That's cool. Are they trying to balance out the coverage? I know some would rather not watch an entire 3-4 game series with the oppositions "homer" announcers. Although I really like hearing some of the other broadcast teams, like Vin Scully for LA, Buck for STL, Brennamen and Brantley from Cin, and Mark Grace from AZ to name a few. I never cared for the Braves teams, or the Cubs current team.
