Tonight the Devil Rays at Yankees game was blacked out in Delray Beach Fl. It was on the MIX channel and was available if you subscribe to YES (SPorts Pkg).

The game is listed on the 731 HD and on 740.

The game is not available on any local channels, espn, etc. Delray Beach is over 200 miles from Tampa Bay...but this game is in NY anyway.

I called Directv and their customer service folks said it is only being show in NY and there is no satellite feed...when I mentioned it was on the MIX channel he went away again.

After insisting for 15 minutes that the game shouldn't be blacked out...bingo it appears. Of course it was the 2nd inning but better than nothing.

D really needs to get their stuff together.

I really wish InDemand had signed their deal earlier...not sure I'd be a D subscriber right now.

Consider yourself very lucky. The majority of the blackout complaints (while some are definitely valid) usually end with the viewer not getting the game at all (and about 30 reply posts asking why!)

I wonder if there may have been something going on?? I am just south of Delray Bch and had the same issue. I called D* and was informed that the D-Rays were listed as "in market" for me...thus would be blacked out. I explained that I have had EI for several years and never had an issue with Tampa games. She stated that there was nothing that she could do and I gave up and ended the call.

I resorted to watching on the Mix Ch but after a few minutes I decided to try again....poof...I was now getting the HD YES feed!!!

Not sure what happened...whether there was something she did after our call, or if there were technical issues that were resolved...

....but I got my game...AND I got the HD feed.....much happier now.

If it was in the Tampa area the game would be on SUN as a regional. I think they just made a stupid mistake and thought the game was in Tampa and not NY.

BTW, how come there's no menus on the games tonight? Do we only get stats, etc for certain games?

HD Feeds are not interactive.

I guess this was a 'reverse blackout' game - here the YESHD feed was shown on 95HD.

They screwed up tonight -- for once, to the viewers benefit. The YES coverage (both SD and HD) should have been blacked out here in Tampa, as it was being shown on (Pax/i) channel 66 (SD only of course). And it was at the start...but as others noticed, the local blackout was lifted partway through the game.

According to the rules, we should not have gotten the YES coverage...but I'm not complaining.

It should have been blacked out in Tampa, but not in Delray Beach. We're over 200 miles away and had no way of receiving the game.

If you're claimed in Rays territory, doesn't matter if the game is actually being shown locally -- MLB still gets you blacked out. That said, I'd think that Delray Beach would be Marlins territory, so yeah, you should not have been blacked out.
