My TIVO is recording over my shows

I need help figuring how to stop the TIVO from recording over my season pass shows. I have an R10 an now the TIVO shows are removing my recorded shows. i thought i set it up to not do that. i dont even watch the TIVO shows. anyway i can just stop the tivo programs?

Tivo's "Suggestions" can be disabled in the setup menu. But they should not be erasing your own recordings. That should only happen if you're running out of disk space. In fact, the amount of Tivo's Suggestions is a good measure of how much "free space" is available for your own recordings. Maybe you should consider upgrading to a larger hard drive?

Check your recording options to see how you have them set up for your season passes. If you have some of them set up to save until you delete then and shows set to be deleted to make room for new recordings will get overwritten. Any season passes that are set up to be saved also include any upcoming shows in the To Do list. The Tivo considers them to be part of the saved recordings and therefore yields less available space for other recordings.

Try setting all of your season passes to allow shows to be deleted to free up space for other recordings. This will actually reduce the likelihood that shows will be deleted because the Tivo will no longer reserve space for future shows that are set to be saved until you delete.

If you've more than just a few season passes and the stock 40GB drive then you need to upgrade to a larger drive. The stock drive wouldn't even hold one week's worth of season pass recordings for me.
