The installer was out this morning to do my HR-20 install. Every thing went fine except when he hooked up the B Band Converters. Each time he would hook them up the receiver would get a 0 Signal strength. When he left them off everything worked fine. He even hooked up a new Zinwell switch with no change. Has anyone seen these go bad? My H20 has one on it and it is still working fine. He is having D* send me out two new ones. Could the receiver be bad?

Yes, there have been cases where they have been bad. You do want them to work, as they will be necessary later this year or next. When you get the new ones, I would unplug the receiver for a couple minutes, then install the converters (be sure not to install them backwards!), plug back in and let things come up (as in a normal reset). If they are working right the HR20 should recognize them and all should "proceed" normally.

I've had my BBCs on since first install in September with no problems.

I concurr with Dr. Hasan,

Yep, there's been posts about people getting bad BBC connectors.
Yep, make sure they get replaced.
Yep, make sure you hook the new ones up and that they work.

No, it's not a problem with the receiver.
If the receiver was the problem, the tuner(s) wouldn't work with or without the connectors.
