501 modem speed and guide ?

WHat speed modem does the 501 have 56k? And when the dish downloads the program guide does it download via phone or through the dish? thanks in advance

I belive the modem speed for the 501 is 56K, but don't quote me on that.

The program guide is downloaded via the dish. No phone line needed for the program guide.

Huh? How is the phone line used for Dish Home right now? Or is that in future plans?

It uses the phoneline to upload some of your specific requests up to Dish, things such as payment authorizations, etc.

According a spec of internal modem chip, the max speed is 2400 baud.

The phone line will be needed to have full access to the Customer Service application, which is on some of the OpenTV receivers all ready.
