I have OTA locals for the Louisville, KY market. WAVE DT (NBC) has a slight but noticable squealing sound in the background. Some shows are worse than others. But it is definitely there.

None of the other networks ever have it. Just NBC.

Anyone else notice this? If so, can it be corrected?

I watched Wave DT Thursday morning about 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM but didn't notice any squeal. That may have been the network feed and not the local local station.

It is their 5.1 Dolby Digital feed that does it. It's faint but it's definitely there. My wife has not noticed it. I haven't told her because once you notice it, you always hear it.

The reason I think it's WAVE DT's problem and not my equipment, is because I don't get it on any other DT channel, OTA or satellite.

It's almost as if the treble is so high that it sqreaches a bit.

I am going to call WAVE this week and see if they have ever heard of the problem.

I've noticed it the last 3 weeks watching The Office. To me, it sounds like the audio is being compressed too much.

I knew I wasn't going crazy.

I haven't called WAVE yet. When I do, I will let you know what they tell me.

Good let us know what you find out. I have emailed wave on other occaisions with pretty quick replies from them. You could try that route.
