View Full Version : MLB EI All games blacked out
I cant see any games what so ever, and everything in the game mix is also blacked out. Is this a problem on D* end today, and is anyone else having this problem?

How do MLB blackouts work with FOX?
For every Saturday of the regular season, the FOX Television Network has the exclusive national rights to broadcast games up until 7:00pm ET (4:00pm PT). So, while you will not receive Major League Baseball games on your MLB EXTRA INNINGSŪ channels any of those Saturday mornings or afternoons, you will receive the available Saturday night games that begin after 7:00pm ET (4:00pm PT). For Saturday morning and afternoon games, check out the FOX Network local schedule.
From today till the end of the season ALL games before 7pm (Except games shown locally) are blacked out due to the FOX exclusivity window.
that is load of bs. i'm paying for MLB EI specifically to see the Yankees and now i cant watch any afternoon games on Saturday. Fox isnt even broadcasting the game today. YES and MASN are and yet i cant get either of them. If FOX5 NY was broadcasting then maybe id understand but they weren't.

why cant D*just give us the Fox Feed to those games? NBC has exclusives to some weekend games of the NHL but those NBC feeds are shown on Center ice

Has nothing to do with D*. All EI systems are under the same blackout. Has to do with MLB's contract with Fox. The games are even blacked out on mlb.com.
And, gee, another Yankee fan who is all upset cause he can't get every game.

i was able to see all yankee games last year. there was never a problem on Saturday afternoons. I just usually got them on the EI channels rather than a RSN.

Last year the FOX exclusive window did not begin until May thats why (they had 2 Saturdays in September I believe where there was no FOX baseball as well.) Other than those possible times there is no way anyone outside of NY could have seen a Yanks game on an RSN unless it was on the Big Fox. The ONLY team that is exempt (don't ask how) is WGN with the Cubs. IF the Cubs televise on WGN and there is no game on FOX opposite then can show the game even outside of Chicago.

Welcome to MLB's anti-fan territory policy. MLB only wants you to see what they want you to see. They could care less about what the fans want.
Another reason why I won't miss EI once this "free" week is up.

This is MLB's doing, not D*, as well as FOX. I so glad they started coverage the first week so I can't see the other games on Sat. afternoon. Or not.

What makes it even more frustrating this year is that at least last year, you could almost understand b/c the YES game was up against the FOX game. But since FOX's games now start at 3:55, none of the 1:00 games are even in competition with FOX.
I had written a letter, but never got a response...go figure.

The Giants are on FOX, and everything but WGN is blacked out here. There are games on starting at 4pst/7est.

I have EI and enjoy it but I must admit that no other sport works to push fans away more than MLB
And I loved their D*-only MLB deal....dont even mean that...but just so many things they do are so counter-productive to getting newer fans
When will MLB and Fox allow out of market Saturday games to be on Extra Innings (like the NHL and NBC allow their out of market games on Center Ice)? MLB needs to review its contract with Fox to fix this.
I am another Yankees fan who wants to see every game in HD on D*. This is 2007..why shouldn't we expect every MLB and NHL game to be available via a sports package that we pay extra for. The technology is there. MLB doesn't need to dictate which team they feel I should be a fan of. I live in PA, although Comcast DC and MASN are my D* RSNs.. I should be allowed to watch all games of the team I am a fan of (Yankees).
