I am have new Hp computer with Vista home premium and Viiv. I have a HR20 that is connected to my network. I am trying to stream photos, music etc from my computer to the HR20. I have followed all of the various instructions and I can't get it to work with windows media player. I also have Windows media center which I believe is the Viiv s/w on this machine. It talks about connecting to a media extender but it is asking for the 8 digit setup key that is displayed on my TV.

Any ideas on how to make this work

I moved the thread to the HR20 Information Resources subforum.

Beyond that, I'm not much help other then after Windows was setup, did you reboot the HR20? I know in the XP world, that was a necessary step.

Cheers,
Tom

Open the Media Player and right click on the top black bar. Click on tools. Click on options. Click on Library. Click on Configure Sharing. Then you should see a UNKNOW DEVICE click on that and click allow. You should be good after that if not let me know.

and if it is using the Viiv, it needs to be the latest release of Viiv found at the intel.com site.

On another note, make sure UPnP is enabled on the router and under "My Network Places", on the left hand side will be a link called "Show icons for Networked UPnP devices". Once UPnP is enabled correctly on the network, devices will no longer show up as unknown devices and the firewall will be set up correctly for use.
