In the middle of playback for a recording it shut off and my screen went to static. Green lights were on in the front, and then they went off. I tried the standby button but got nothing so I hit the reset button. A minute later it booted up. Figured, eh it's a fluke. Get 2 more minutes into a recording and hit pause because someone calls and I lose my screen to static again.

What gives?

What brand/model DVR do you have? DirecTV/Tivo's don't have a "reset button".

Also, tell us more about your equipment .... how is the DVR connected to your other equipment?

Nothing fancy, just an R10 hooked to a 19" TV in one of the bedrooms. Not to seem argumentative, but it most certainly has a red reset button behind the door that covers the access card.

Hmmm. News to me. Guess I better check mine to see if there's a reset button there :)

What inputs/outputs are you using to connect your DVR to your TV? Does the problem change if you use different connections?

Don't feel bad litzdog, I had to do the same thing and found a red reset button on my R10 :sure:

Well I found the issue. The coax input on my old school TV took a dump. Time for a new LCD HDTV :eek2:

BTW, the HR10 also has a red reset button behind the access door. :)
