I have a dual LNBF (Dish500) with 100 and 119. I also have a second dish with dual LNBs for 148. I want to connect two DISHPRO301 receivers to this config. Since the Dish500 LNB has a built in switch, the manual says that after setup one wire will have 110 and 119. I am taking that and connecting it to 1 input of a SW21. I am taking the output of one of the 148 LNBs and connecting to the second input. The output of the SW21 is connected to the receiver. The same setup for the second receiver.
The problem is that the receiver only sees the 110/119 signal. It does not see the 148 or the SW21. Why is that????
one of the SW21 has the following on it: "3801" and "123475958-AB"
the other one has "0801" and "123475958"
Can anyone help me, please?
Thanks
It should work if you have a legacy LNB.
If your LNB is a Dishpro, you need a switch 34. Do a check switch after you install the switch 21.
Actually if you have DISH PRO TWIN LNBF on your DISH 500 you need a DP-34 DISH does not make a SW-34. you will also need a DISH PRO single LNBF on your 148 dish. On the back of the twin you will have a stylized DP if it is a DISH PRO.

Boba, I beg to differ the DP34 is referred to as a Switch 34 in many Dish materials . I did not say SW34, I said a switch 34. The full name of a DP34 is a Dish Pro 34 Switch.

Drjake - in our circles, there is no such thing as a switch 34.
What do you ACTUALLY have for LNB's ?
Take the SW21 out, then use the Point Dish menu and run the "Check Switch", then report. If it says you have a TWIN, then make sure your 148 dish is a DUAL LNB (half the width of a TWIN, but has 2 outputs). Take one output of the 148, put it on the SW21, then put your TWIN on the SW21, then run another "Check Switch".
If you have the TWIN and a Dual, then the "SW34" (what you called it) WILL NOT WORK. If you have DishPRo LNB's then the SW21 will not work - you can't mix Legacy and DishPro switches/ LNB's.
Scooper, if you read my post, I said if he has a DishPro LNB, he can't use the SW21. In that case a DishPro 34 Switch needs to used. I never disagreed. I just pointed out that some of the Dish Litereature refers to the DP34 as a DishPro Switch 34.

I have a TWIN DISHPRO LNB and a DUAL LNB looking at 148.
This may help clear things up a bit: Are there TWO type of TWIN lnbs?.. one regular and one dishpro?

Yes, there's a legacy Twin and a DishPro Twin.

Yes, there are TWO types of TWINs: DP (DishPro) and "legasy."
Your problem is that you have a DP TWIN and a legasy dual LNBF.
They won't work together. You could probably get a dealer to exchange TWINS for you and cascade the legasy version with your dual on the other dish with SW-21s.
The more expensive alternative is to get a DP single LNB for the wing dish & put in the DP34 switch. But that way you'd be ready for more tuners in the future.

You can't use sw21 switches with a 3 slot install. You will need to upgrade to a sw64 switch. Go to dishnetwork.com, then technology/installation/installation diagrams and you will find the exact diagram you need.

eagle_andy - for 1 or 2 receivers, you most certainly CAN use a Legacy Twin with a Dual LNB, joined with an SW21 for each receiver. Your receivers need to be able to support this (anything that does 34 or more Switch tests). Now if the original poster wants to go beyond 2 tuners, the Legacy Twin will have to go.
