Today the FCC voted unanimously to block the merger of Echostar/DirecTV. What is your reaction to the decision?

I didn't care one way or the other if it happened. Though, I do agree with Geronimo. Maybe this round is over. There is always a second.

I agree, I don't think it's quite over yet. Just one year ago most of us weren't giving Charlie a chance in Hades in being able to acquire D*, let alone getting this far. I don't think we have heard the last of this yet, and probably won't until Jan 21 when E* and D* "walk away" and go their seperate ways (or they do indeed gain merger approval with concessions).

leo laporte on tech tv announced on the screen savers that he is a D subscriber and he was disappointed about the merger not going through. i too am sad.

Leo is a pretty funny and down to earth guy. I like that he's still in touch with the inner child in himself and has a good sense of humor. He has had some outrageous leadins with Erica Hill on TechLive in the past which were highly memorable.  Did you see him making fun of himself after they moved to the new set and they were replaying the opening TSS segment where he trys to get out of that tiny car in a hurry with Patrick?  He trys to swing open the door and bail out of there like its a medical emergency, but his gut is too big too allow him a fast exit!
