Well I have to say, to me, its now PERFECT.
You can't get rid of the commercial, but the window is now the same size of the race. Thank you!
You have allowed the driver only audio during commercials! - Thank You
One request - Can you add a little graphic showing current position during commercials?
I've never knocked it, I've seen it progress, and I'm seeing something that is not only worth the $99 as advertised, you could probably bump it up now.
So to the HotPass crew, Thank You, Gracias, and keep up the great work!

Maybe Nascar will get their website to work ... scanner pass is a joke ..... no tech support on race day .... pretty shabby for a multi million dollar racing company. I used to think Nascar stood for high standards in quality until I tried Nascar Hotpass and worse yet the Nascar scanner pass on their website that is totally not maintained ..... in fact my sister maintains her car better then Nascar maintains its website and she doesnt even know a car has oil in it!
I have no faith in their products anymore - I'll stick to whatever the networks are showing and thats it.

Do you mean like Sirius does on their driver channels? ie the commerical plays, yet the drivers/CC communications override the commerical only during actual driver/CC communication.
I probably should check it out again since I am paying for it. But in truth, I haven't tuned it in since the Daytona 500.

AWESOME, I was thinking about not renewing next year, but with team audio playing thru the comercials (non stop), they have convinced me to re-up!! If they add hd next year they will have me for a long time. Great Job, Thanx Hotpass team.

No, the audio is on all the time, plays right thru the comercials, but you have to switch to team audio

To me w/ HD coming - the only thing that could make it better is to let us choose a driver weekly. I only watched bits and pieces on HotPass today - a little of Jimmie's channel and a little of Junior's channel, but it is super cool that you can still hear the team audio through the commercials. The next good thing to do would be show speeds and telemetry through the commercials, as well. Thanks DirecTV.

I was not getting the commercials I was Getting the anchors talking because when they where interviewing Stewart right before the green flag I heard Darrel asking Tony if it was alright to do so when they went live.. anybody else get that?

PQ is still horrid but at least the audio options are moving in the right direction.
Still not worth a penny until the commercials are completely gone.

If you're paying $99 for it, there shouldn't be commercials, IMO.

Righto. peel all those commerials off the cars, and the tracks, because if you're paying $50 for a single race, you shouldn't have to see commercials. Ha. Ha. Ha.

I thought yesterday's Hotpass session was great. They obviously have been listening to our recommendations.

This would be fantastic, but would require 43 broadcasts because inevitably there would be at least one subscriber picking a different team...43 broadcasts....wow the bandwidth. And on Sundays when NFL is going on as well....oi vey. My head is spinning.

10 channels would be enough. You would keep the majority of fans happy w/ that Satelliteracer. Thanks.

It could be done 43 Hd Hotpass Channels + 13 NFL Channels = 56 HD Channels, 100-56 that would leave us with 44 National HD channels plus or minus for other sports, Its a nobrainer :D

In reality, you are probably right. Let's continue to refine the current version first (as has been the case on a week by week basis) and then cross that bridge. The main hurdle is cost and bandwidth. 5 more drivers means 5 more producers, 10 more announcers, at least 20 more cameras and their operators, etc. It starts to put that $99 season price in a more unrealistic position.
But I'm sure they will continue to look at those things.
By the way, at least preliminarily Gordon is scheduled on NASCAR HotPass for Talladega on the 29th I believe....subject to change of course. I missed yesterday's race since I was out of town, but another top 5 finish for JG.
I have to admit I was worried about this, but giving us team audio during the commercials has finally made this a viable service. I can see myself in the future watching HP exclusively. Now bring on the HD!

Just joking around, in fact I love the current form of Hotpass by far better than it was at the Daytona 500, I don't even watch the HD feed on fox anymore. As far as the 43 drivers, not sure about 43 but it would be cool if when the new birds go up to offer standard SD feeds of every car with an onboard camera. no announcers, no production just straight incar audio, camera and nothing else. couldn't take that much bandwidth compared to a single HD channel to just offer that. of course I could just be completely clueless, still it would be cool.

I have to add here, that the commercials are not an issue whatsoever. That $99 is paying for the production costs. I'd much rather have HotPass as it is today compared to a static in car camera and vroom vroom vroom all race. I think $99 is more than fair for what we get today. I'd still like to see a graphic showing position during commercial and maybe a busch race or two (I know, too much to ask for!)
Kudos Satelliteracer!
Go #17!!

Team Audio only during commercials last week! Great. Might want to monitor audio mix a little closer. Tony's engine noise overrode the communications during the middle and last part of the race.

I sent an email to hotpass@directv.com and reported the problem during the race. I thought it got somewhat better.

At the "97 laps to go" point I heard the spotter tell Tony loud and clear "Cut it out! Save the car and quit trying to beat it up" (or something to that effect) - he was banging into the 13 car a bit.
