I have a HR10-250 that has been flawless since day 1 and I owned one of the first available. However, last week it started freezing up kind of like I was watching a OTA HD signal and my reception was a little spotty which happens on occasion in bad weather. Then it wouldn't let me change channels, view the guide, or really do anything it was just locked up requiring a complete unplug of power. This went on for several days sometimes it would work for a little while others times it would immediately lock up. I called D and after an hour and 4 idiots looking in a book for a solution I finally got someone that said we will send you a new one. They really just wanted to send a technician out and I explained that I don't need a technician just another box. Then a local install company called 3 times trying to come out and I had to tell them I don't need their help. I really thought I would be getting one of the new recorders but they send me a refurbished HR10-250 to my surprise. I plugged it in and it has worked flawlessly over the last 24 hours.

Any idea what is wrong with my old HR10-250? It is hooked up with one sattelite in and an OTA antannae, digital audio out to receiver, component out to Samsung 6187W, and a phone line connected. I would like to repair and use this receiver in another room and also hate to lose all my current recorded content.

I am happy to have another 10-250 so I don't have to mess with updating my Harmony remote. I thought that D was not sending these out anymore.

Those are almost the exact same symptoms I had with one of my HR10-250's. I replaced the hard drive with one from WeaKnees and all my problems went away. It works perfectly now...

Bill,

Were you able to transfer/save any of your data from your old drive? If so how?

Thanks,
Jeff

Mjlepak check http://www.mfslive.org/ for info on how to create a bootable CD to image your hard drive to a new one with the option of copying the recordings. Don't mount the disk on a system booted to windows.
