I've been a customer for seven years with a good history. Usually get ESPN Gameplan and have either a movie or sports package as well. Have no idea if I'm an A list customer or not as I don't really talk to them. My bill has never been late.

I'm now ready to upgrade to HD. I would like one HR20 (the HD DVR receiver) and one H20 (the regular HD receiver). The website says this will cost $400 total.

I figured they could do better than that. What kind of deals have the CSR's been giving to customers similar to me? My contract has long since expired. I feel like I'm in pretty good shape and just trying to get the best deal possible. Thanks for any assistance.

This (very long) thread just a few posts below yours in this forum discusses the various deals people have gotten. It runs the range from no cost to the advertised $299 cost for the HR20, and likewise ranges from no cost to the full $99 price for the H20.

All I can suggest is to call and talk to them. Keep in mind the HR20 is in very high demand right now, and hard to come by at times. Makes it tough to negotiate the price down. You might be able to do better talking to retention, but I would not suggest threatening to leave unless you are prepared to follow up on the threat.

Good luck.
