New install question?

I have a dilemma; I currently have Dish, but am thinking of switching back to DTV.
I have 4 TVs. One in the Basement SD, Family Room HD & 2 SD upstairs. Each set only has 1 RG6 cable. I want a HD DVR in the family Room, SD DVR in the Basement & 1 up stairs, and one regular receiver for the upstairs.
I know adding a cable for the basement and family room is not a problem, but what are my options for the upstairs location that I want a DVR. It’s going to be a pain to run a second cable to that location. Is there a splitter or something I can use at the face plate?

Nope, no splitters for now. You'll have to run a second home run to each DVR.

Not at this time is there anything for your "troubled" location that will let you have two outputs from one. "This fall" there is to be something for you. It's called SWM [single wire multi-switch] which it will "fit your bill", but that's not here now.

Just to clarify - a 2nd cable is not required. The DVR will function just fine without it - you just will not be able to record two programs at the same time or record one program and watch something else.

The SWM is really the best solution if you can hold out until it's released.

Yes, I've been looking at the thread about the SWM. Think I may hold out for that.
