Does anyone know what is up with the DC HD Locals? Last night FOX, and a couple of the other HD Locals were pixelating, breaking up, sound crackling, green distortion crap (don't know what else to call it), etc so bad it was almost unwatchable.
I have asked two co-workers who also recorded and/or watched Amer Idol (FOX) and Lost, also the HD news on channel 4 last night and they experienced the same issues.
The weather was not bad last night. I thought the wind earlier this week may have moved my dish. I checked signals strengths and they were fine.
Is this a D* issue or the broadcasters? If it is the broadcasters, why are multiple HD stations having issues?

You would be better off checking avsforum.com and look for your local thread.

I had the same problems here, which seemed to continue into the morning hours. Not sure why, but definitely something whack on the DirecTV MPEG4 DC Locals (not there on over-the-air).

I recorded Lost on Wednesday (since they moved it to 10, I can't watch it since I have to get up at 5AM.) I watched it last night, and it was ALMOST unwatchable. Complete breakup of the picture ever 10 to 15 seconds. Popping sounds every second starting about midway through.
I thought my dish might have become misaligned. Nice to know other people are also experience it. I definitely noticed it the most on ABC. Slight audio pops on Fox. Haven't noticed it on NBC or CBS yet.

We watched Lost on channel 2 out of Baltimore (over the air) and had the same crackling sound. I'm assuming it was present in the film recording.
