I just returned form the UK and have to say that I really enjoyed SKY news. Well actually SKY tv as well. I can see similarities on the SKY digibox vs. new Directv boxes. Anyway, Is there any chance SKY news UK will be broadcast on Directv? It should be any easy thing to do considering Rupert owns both providers.

Rupert will only have the "major" stock ownership for a few more months...
But even then... If he hasn't added it by now... I don't see it comming any time soon.
There is Sky Sports News. It used to be only a half hour, but I have seen it lately listed as an one hour show.

According to Wikipedia:rolleyes:
In late July 2006, DirecTV added several channels to their online guide that are apparently not available to viewers — these include UK-based Sky Sports One, Sky One and Sky News. The three are channels that are generally available to satellite television viewers in the United Kingdom, though Sky News has been made available in other countries internationally.
I don't see them in my guide but it sure would be nice to have them. But if the Wikipedia statement is or was true, I wonder why D* would put them there at all if not for us to have them?
There was speculation on this and other boards that D* had the Sky channels up only for Tony Blair during a visit to the US.

I doubt we would see Skyone, it is the UK version of FOX. We would never see Sky Sports, it has to many EPL soccer games. Directv makes too much money selling us Setanta to watch Man United games. I do have a theory, more like a conspiracy theory as to why there is no Sky news, but I will leave that alone. Mr Bush may be reading!
