There's just nothing stable about these machines. After the last patch Caller ID actually worked for awhile. It has stopped again...on all three machines we have over the past few days. They all didn't stop at once...but none of them display Caller ID now.

We have POTS, no DSL. You would think a function so basic it is included with phones costing under $5 could be made to work in a box that some claim should "sell" for $900.

Now, don't get me wrong...I really don't care that much about Caller ID on my TV...but the instability of this feature seems to be indicative of the box and programming overall.

Whenever I update the software, for some reason the Caller ID may or may not be working. If it's not working, I restart the box and Caller ID then always works for me.

I never get the pop-up anymore, but it never fails to log the calls, even when in standby.

Do you have an answering machine? If so, turn it off and see if it pops up later in the process .. Not saying it's right, just curious if it ever shows up.

All three here have stopped logging calls as well.

Mine stopped working today around noon. It has always worked for me since I got my HR20-700 back in January.

Mine is not working on both HR 20's. Called D* and was told it had been reported March 15 and was working on a fix. Like everything else with this box very slow getting a fix.

My caller ID returned when I went back to 145 from the CE, but now it is gone again. Sometimes an RBR restores it for a while, sometimes not.

Not a real big deal for me, but it is the only imperfection I now see in the HR20.

yeah, cid is way low on my list of priorities. BUT...i hate when stuff doesn't work as advertised. d* should fix whatever's wrong cuz d* decided to put it in in the first place.

edit: okay, after posting this, the lightbulb went off in my head. a while back, i'd had some problems with my dsl, and in troubleshooting, i had removed all my line filters. i just put a line filter on my hr20 and....ta da! cid works. at least for now...
