Just wondering what could be going on, im getting a searching for Sat error on all SD channels but my mpeg2 and 4 are fine. We did have some high winds here today but seems like i would be having the problem on all channels if the dish has been moved.

What sat and transponder do i need to check to see if im getting good signal?

All of them : 119, 110, 103, 101, 99 [from west to east].

My pixelation and occasional 'searching for sat' messages started about 3 weeks ago after that nor'easter hit New England. I did chech my signals and I'm in the 80 and 90 percent ranges. Does this mean it's something else? Solar flares? I'm not really getting the 'searching for sat' message anymore but I get the pixelation every once in a while.

Anyone have any input on this???

From a follow on in the chat room, the OP seemed to have problems with the signal being blocked by something [trees most likely], that after the wind died down stopped being a problem.
It is common this time of year to find problems as the trees grow & sprout new leaves.
What "used to work" over time as things grow, starts to show problems. This has happened to me [and will again I'm sure] as I have tall trees some distance from me that I'm either going over the top of or trying to go in between to get all of my signals.
Also there are two times a year that the sun does cross the path of the SATs, but this only lasts a few minutes for a day to two.

I was in that same chat with VOS and cnmsales last night.
VeryOldSchool told you one of the 2 theories we came up with.
Granted, it's the more likely one, but might as well post both theories.

The other theory was that maybe the dish foot is not completely tightened down flush to the roof, thus when the wind blows hard, it's blowing the whole dish back on the loose foot bolts. Then when the wind dies down it falls back into place.

Stupid as that theory sounds, my own installer did NOT fully tighten those bolts into the roof during my January install. I don't know if it was because there was ice on the roof when he mounted it (that has since melted) or if he was just too lazy to put his muscles into fully tightening it ... but the bottom line is I was able to shake the whole mast back n forth until I finally tightened those bolts myself.

This is a valid a cause [reason] as any. Why I didn't post it was the MPEG-4 channels "I would think" would also have problems [maybe even more because of their narrower beam] too, which they didn't. With either "cause" the dish shouldn't be loose or wiggling around in any wind. FWIW
