HBO Zone.
All the Cinemax channels.
Better/more CD music channels (particularly more rock options).
I'd also like them to move the Encores out of AT-150 and into the Starz! Superpak where they belong.

Is there anything on HBO Zone that is not on all the other HBO channels?

I think the only way they got people to go for cinemax was to have the "Everything Pack" where it was only $1 more (maybe $2 more now) Having more cinemax channels won't do much to get more subscribers.

I like having the Encore channels along with TMC and TMCX in the AT150 pak. I could see adding Encore to Starz pak and then discounting it when bundled with AT150, however I doubt this will ever happen either. Since the merger is is on its death bed, their may be an occasional channel addition, however they will be few and far between. Having said that I would like to see Goodlife TV added and 3ABN radio added to DISH CD.;)
VH1 Mega Hits
MuchMusic Loud
YES Network
HBO Zone
more Cinemax channels

Ok, since I'm new at the whole DBS thing and a E* subscriber, what other channels are up there that we don't get?

I think most of these channels are "might be nice", but not "A must have". Cinemax channels would be good (from charlies point of view) as many find it hard to pay $10/month for 3 channels, if there were 5+ cinemax channels in the package it would me more economical to the subs and more might go for it. Although I don't regret getting rid of Cinemax for 1 second (even if more channels were available. I've read that dish could offer the additional cinemax channels for no cost to them (other than using up bandwidth) Anyone know if that is true?

I'd still like to see the G4 videogames channel make it into Dish Networks Top 100 even if the majority of the programming still leaves a lot to be desired from what I last heard. Extended Play on TechTV is my favorite source for gaming information on tv with the perfect blend of humor and seriousness, but I'm always left wanting more then just a half hour to cover all the console platforms and pc. Ah well, I should just be happy that Adam Sessler is now doing more then one new show a week I guess.
I'd also love to see all the extra Discovery channels in the top 150 moved down into the top 100, but I'm not counting on that one ever happening. Maybe Dish could just bump down Discovery Wings and Discovery Science for folks who don't want to pay another ten bucks to get the top 150 just to get these two desirable channels.
The Naked News TV PPV each weekend.

The only channels I would want are C-SPAN 3 and CNBC World. I would like to see the additional Max's added to make the package worth something.

When is someone going to get around to letting us select channels ala carte? Why don't providers let the subscribers choose? The only thing that is done with packages is we subsidize channels that no one wants. I'd like to be able to pick channels that are in the standard English speaking paks (50,100 & 150) but I'd like to pick a few from the Latino paks. Yes, the ones I want are on 110 so my 500 system could get them. Its not a problem of not having a dish to receive them. I have a BUD and thats the way I susbscribe by picking the channels that I want to see.
Help, Charlie. Dump the junk channels by letting us pick what we want to see. We could then turn some of that transponder space over to more channels or better PQ on what we have.
Oh yeah, I'd like to have Radio YUSA and the old time radio shows too.
Thanks
Mike

Problem isn't with the DBS providers it's with the programming providers. Most providers don't want their channels a la carte or they want there channels to be available in certain ways. For example, Disney wants the ESPN channels to be in the lower tiers and they want all cable/sat providers to carry Toon Disney and Soap Net. Dish used to have an unadvertised a la carte package called Dish Pix for $15/month. That allowed you to pick any 10 channels you wanted out of a very limited selection. This package no longer exists though.
I want to see more high-quality Chrisitian programming like that found on SA.

Steve
If the program providers are controlling how it is offered then why can I pick and choose from many of the same programs on a C-Band system? I currently have a subscription through NPS and it is all ala carte. A lot of the stuff that is on C-Band is also on Dish and I'm sure DirecTV. But for some reason they are stuck in the Pak offering.
Thanks for the reply.

I have been looking over Trio's website & think there is some good stuff there. Guess I'll add it to my "wish list", too.
The rest of the "SK"inemax channels, NY1 (local NY Metro) and YES Network.
trio, goodlife, b-mania tv, and the new mgm movies station

But your wishlist is accessable to you... "By Subing to SA". For many of the other channels listed here, there is no alternative except for a BUD system. Those who want SA programming can order SA programming. The hardware costs are not "Out of this world" for most people. Why use up bandwidth on "SA Similar Programming" when we could use that limited bandwidth for some of the channels listed here already that don't have an existing DBS solution.
From www.dishdepot.com
.....18 Inch Dish With Dual LNBF.....$ 69.95
.....SW 64 Switch Assembly..........$ 149.95
Local Pricing (May vary).
.....Install (If Necessary).................$ 100.00
==================================
Total = $219.90-$319.90 (depends on install)
Most people could somehow budget $220 to $320 (even with a part time job).
But those who would need a BUD system may not have the option due to Homeowner association limits, etc.
Timmy, what is that new MGM movies channel that you refer to? Is it available on C Band?

I didn't know the MGM Movies channel was even offered in this country (on cable or satellite). I thought it was just for Europe and Asia so far.

I think most of us in NY and NJ who care (that would be most of us) are waiting for the merger decision to be finalised, give E* until after the New Year to try again, then, "see ya Echostar" come Feb - March 2003.

I would like to see a dedicated HD Movie channel that has a high quality transfer, DD 5.1 sound and presented in it's OAR format. (Hey, I can fantasize!) Oh, and a free 8psk mod from Dish so we can watch it.

Dish Network does not have the Yes Network. Does anyone know if this has affected Dish Network's business in the NJ and NY area? Are they getting less subscribers? Have they lost a considerable amount of subscribers? Does anyone care?
AT 100 subscriber (Yes Still Waiting for YES)

AT 100 subscriber (Yes Still Waiting for YES) It bothered me at first but as the season went on I didn't care as much and settled for the few games on Fox or CBS. Good thing I wasnt able to watch the Yanks this year because it would have killed me to see them lose in the ALCS.
