It's been a very long time since I've recieved any kind of message on my receivers including the HR-20.

Anyone else have this issue or is "D" not doing this anymore?

I get more messages via automated phone calls than on my receivers.

Unless I check this site or "D's" website, I'm not aware of freeviews and such.

DirecTV is not using the Receiver based messaging system that often anymore...

I can only recall one message (that others got, but I didn't) in the last 18-20 months.

Thanks Earl....so in essence, no one knows about anything "D" is doing or offering since they don't inform their customers via receiver messages!
Kinda "basackwards" marketing isn't it?

I never know about freeviews, offers, channel changes until either I stumble upon them or I'm proactive.

I would have to say they should revisit this decision.

All you have to do is go to the website and subscribe to the monthly newsletter. It will come automatically and inform you of most free previews. Worsk well for many of us that use that method.

I've never gotten a message on my R15 which I've had since Dec. 2005...
The last message I got was on mt DTiVo... SDVR40... About the Daylight Savings change update...

Although... at least with the R15 (and the HR20 I think...) the what used to be freviews (The 101 now) shows get recorded anyway...

I don't know... those messages never seemed to be that informative to me.
