I have had my HR10-250 for about 2 1/2 years now. I just started getting an error message that it is not receiving a signal on SAT2. When I switch to this tuner, it is a blank screen and when I check the signal on the transponders, SAT1 is in the 90's and SAT2 is 0. When I switch the coax wires in the back the problem stays with SAT2 and SAT1 continues to work, so I am sure the problem is in the unit and not with the wiring to the unit. Has anyone had any success fixing a similar problem on their own? Is it possbile to open the and check the wiring to the SAT2 input. Thanks in advance for your help.

You could certainly open up your HR10-250 and take a look. You'll find two integrated tuner modules soldered to the motherboard, so I doubt there's anything you can repair yourself. You're lucky that it's SAT2 that died, at least you can use it as a single tuner DVR (just repeat Satellite Setup and specify one tuner).

I get these periodically. A reboot is all that it takes to show Sat2 again.

Thanks for the advice - It took 2 reboots, but after the 2nd one it is working again!
I recently noticed this too. I tried a reboot which did not work, but then a couple of days later I noticed it was working again. All seems fine now. Could this possibly be related to the temperature of the box? Maybe I just need to get in there and tighten the screws again.

Certainly a possibility. Could also be a cold-solder joint that's become somewhat temperature sensitive.

My two Hughes and an R15 were doing this and Direct said the multiswitcher had died. They replaced it and the problem went away.
Is it just on one unit?

This is happening to one of my TiVo's as well. I wouldn't have thought it was the multi-switch, but will check it out as the culprit.
