Is there a way to set a timed recording..

As an example.. Yesterday's Nascar was was postponed until today but, of course, the guide doesn't have the updated information. So assuming the race is about 5 hours long I had to record a show that is going to be on when Nascar is supposed to start and tell it to keep recording for 2 hours, and then I recorded the show that is to be on after that and told it not to stop recording for 1 1/2 hours.

My question is... Isn't there a way to just tell the unit to record a channel from 11am to 5 pm? Sort of like the old VCR method?

I think it's menu > settings > scheduler > manual.
