The audio has an intermittent "digital-sounding breakup" in the DD audio ...Anyone else with the same issue? SD broadcast seems fine.

Yeah, it was pretty bad...and lasted throughout the game.

I actually went so far as to use one of wireless speakers hooked up to my SD TIVO box in another room and mannually sync the sound to the picture on the HD TV on Mute!!

I wonder if FIOS had the same issue or not ...i.e. was it the DD source or was it a D* screwup

Dunno if this was a D* issue or not...my neighbor w/ FIOS installed, whom I usually check these things with, is out of town. I'd guess D* in this case, though -- similar audio issues (though not so severe) were experienced with some Lightning/Magic games on 96 this past season, but not on FIOS or cable. I guess the MPEG4 transcoding still has some issues (though the non-RSN MPEG4 locals have been pretty trouble-free recently).

Hopefully Thursday's HD broadcast will turn out better.
