The Retail Bridge:TiVo on Tuesday released its universal Swivel Search, which provides broadband-connected subscribers of the DVR service with the ability to quickly find programming.
Rather than starting with a title or keyword, Swivel Search allows TV viewers to locate programming by starting with a show they enjoy and using elements of that program to find more of what they like in programming. Universal Swivel Search allows viewers to seamlessly link from descriptions of one program to others that have common elements, including program name, actors or suggestions based on viewer feedback.
Additionally, users can find programs related to a specific subject with "tags," topic-related terms that might not be included in the program's title or episode description but fall under an over-arching subject of interest, the company said.
Universal Swivel Search began rolling out to broadband-connected Series2 and Series3 subscribers this week.
