Is their still a waiting list for the HR20? How long will it take for installation if I call direct today?

Thanks.

I think the waiting is for the installer to get to you now.

I do believe the ones most qualified to answer that is www.directv.com. Give them a call then come back and put the information back in here. I would be interested to know as well.

My local Best Buy and Circuit City had some HR20-700's in stock last weekend (I'm still scouting for an HR20-100). :)

Just noticed today:
My local COSTCO store (North San Diego) has lots of DIRECTV receivers on display:

-- two pallets of HR20's These are HR20-700's, (Mfg Pace) in the silver finish. Price is $269

-- two pallets of H20's. These are H20-600's, in silver. Price is $84

They have a nice stock of glossy, custom made brochures with DIRECTV and COSTCO names embedded. Perhaps COSTCO has joined BestBuy and Circuit City as a "preferred vendor"??

If that helps anyone, please let me know........

The Costco in Silverdale, WA has a HR20 demo unit and a bunch of the brochures, but no stock of any models. Until a few months ago they carried Dish Network (although they hadn't been stocked for quite a while).

In the Milwaukee, WI area there is no backlog. I called D* customer retention on Friday April 27th and was told that I could have it installed the next day!. I had plans that day and had it scheduled for a more convienient day. The installer I had brought a HR20-100S and told me it was the first -100 unit that he had received from D* to date.

It really depends on your area. I think Directv has enough units now. It is just a matter of how backed up the install company in your area is.

BTW I just realized that this is #1000 for me.
