Over the past week I have noticed a sound issue on my 622. It sounds a little like the sound is coming through a "tin can". There is no degraded video associated with this and it appears on random channels (HD and SD). It also doesn't occur all the time. I thought that perhaps my wife or I accidentally hit a different sound mode on our Kenwood receiver but that is not the case. I have my 622 hooked up through an optical cable to the Kenwood and DVI/HDMI to my Sony RPTV. I have also tried the different DD/PCM settings on the 622 to no avail. I also spoke to my brother who has a 622 and he noticed the same sound issue. Anyone else noticing this or have a fix?

Are you seeing this on any particular program or channel? I have not personally seen this, but it could well be channel or program specific.

I've seen it on Spike, OTA HD programs (Heroes and a couple of others), SciFi. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Have you tried bypassing the Kenwood and using the HDMI to TV so you can eliminate the Kenwood or the cable as the casue of the problem..?

Unfortunately my t.v. only has DVI. However, I have the 622 also hooked up via composite and RCA cable directly to t.v. When I notice the "tinny" sound I will check the t.v.'s sound via the composite connections. Thanks!

Last night I experienced the same thing watching a recorded copy of "House". The "tin can" sound was intermittent and I tried skipping though it to no avail. I'm running HDMI to our HDTV from a 622 but have the TV sound turned off. For sound I'm using composite cables from the TV sound outputs to a home theater system that basically fakes 5.1 surround sound.

Last night I heard the "tinny" sound on OTA HD "Jay Lenno" and switched my sound to the RCA cables directly to the t.v. I got that same sound through the t.v. speakers.
