Should the RED LED display when the phone line is in use?

Since the game lounge usage, the RED LED lights whenever it connects to D* and does updates, etc.

I cannot say that the RED LED lights up whenever it calls home to give PPV updates and such, but it should.

If D* is going to use it in the Game lounge to indicate a connection using the phone line, it probably should be used all the time whenever the internal modem is in use, especially during system test! Why not verify the RED LED works as designed as well!

Moderators, I made another poll in the CE, you may delete this poll.

I think the vote will tell. the story, Sparky. No one really cares -- like me. It's not so much that I don't care as the fact the question doesn't probe what interests me. All those blue light are a pain in the eye! Cool it. Go back to red and green and yellow. At least those were someone soothing and relatively non-obtrusive. Ever since they finally broke the blue led barrier, everyone thinks they have to show how cool they are by poking at our eyes with ice blue. And D* carries it to the extreme with that blue circle! Instead of making a statement with imaginative color, they blind us and generate complaints about not being able to have the HR20 in bedrooms. Dumb marketing! (And unfortunately, not surprising for D*.)

Perhaps a better idea would be to make a seperate LED test that runs First in the system test.

This would also give a visible identification to the Unit under test for those who have more than one HR20.

You left out my choice... the RED LED should be for recording, the YELLOW LED should be for phone! Red = record on pretty much every piece of consumer electronics out there except one.

Good point, I like that as well.
